Mokko Seishin

Vessels

Regular price $250

Vessels are made in sets of three and out of a variety of wood species. Each one is shaped by hand and finished with varying textures including smooth, carved, and charred.

Vessels as well as other small objects are often made out of an effort to make use of off-cut material from larger projects. Aside from reducing waste, they give opportunity to experiment with different textured finishes and to see how certain methods (e.g. charring) can affect the structure of grain patterns. They are used for a variety of both decorative and practical purposes—holding dried flowers, toothpicks, wooden spoons, or simply being as they are.
