MISMO

MISMO is a Copenhagen bag and accessories house, begun as an idea in 2003 and launched with its first bags in 2006. The work sits in a mid-century Danish lineage — simplicity held against practicality — and is made for daily use rather than display: briefcases, pouches and weekend bags for city dwellers and travellers. Pieces are cut from hard woven nylon, tight woven cotton canvas and canvas jacquard, then trimmed throughout in full-grain bridle leather, materials chosen because they mellow rather than wear out. The studio calls its bags companions for life and builds them to patinate, holding a record of where they have been. Made in Istanbul.
