Spoons

Regular price $340

Spoons are carved by hand with a series of straight knives and hook knives, and sanded smooth at the bowls' inner and outer surfaces. Carved texture is left unsanded on the handle. Despite their delicate appearance, these spoons are made for daily use and can handle contact with hot or cold liquids.

Spoons are typically made of off-cut material from larger projects. Their production reduces waste and brings a meditative process to the studio practice that has, over time, become an integral method of mentally resetting. Carving a single spoon can easily take hours depending on the wood species and nature of the grain. It's a process of refinement that has been increasingly routine.
