The Sill Stool is a take on fumidai ("step stools") of early 20th century designs originating in Japan. It is traditional in form but unique in construction—mitered-edge assembly allows wood grain to flow uninterrupted by any visible joinery. The cut-out hole acts as a carrying handle.

The Sill Stool is multifunctional, serving as a place to display objects, sit, and carefully step-up.
