Gabriella Imperatori-Penn

Gabriella Imperatori-Penn is a fine art photographer living between New York and St. Barth. Drawn from the beginning to the quiet conversations of still life, she built an extensive commercial and editorial career while keeping her focus on the fine arts, finding her sanctuary in landscape and nature photography with a strong emphasis on florals. Her work is both bold and feminine, marrying the descriptive and the mysterious, and her travels continually stimulate her photographic nature studies. Over the span of her career she has photographed for American Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, Departures, Elle Decor, O, The Oprah Magazine, Martha Stewart Living, and Architectural Digest, and for clients including Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Knoll, L'Oreal, Lancome, and Cartier. Her influences include Irving Penn, Sarah Moon, Sally Mann, and Lynn Davis. In 2019 her photography was selected for a showcase of female artists-to-watch organized by the international art magazine Art She Says, and her work was recently included in the Heart Goes Nine exhibition at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, curated by art historian J. Sybylla Smith. Her work is held in numerous private collections. Since 2010 she has been working on an ongoing series of Moonscapes and Plant Studies.
